How many rounds of ammunition for each of the four mentioned firearms would all of you recommend be kept on hand?

1000 for centerfires, 3000 for .22

Depends on if you are running or fighting if/when the SHTF. If you live in "Friendly" country a couple thousand rounds is probably a good thing, especially if you have something that might end up getting hit by the import ban. Remember The One will try to disarm us prior to the main event. In that case 7.62x39 might become quite hard to get right before the balloon goes up.
Unfortunately I live in the Peoples Republic of Illinois. And while I don't know where the battle lines will be drawn I'm quite sure my house is going to be on the wrong side. So when SHTF I'm going need to be mobile. This is where not having to lug around four kinds of ammo becomes a very big issue. Every pound of ammo you have to bring with is a pound of something else, food, fuel, clothing, the strong box with all your papers, that has to remain behind. Remember anything you don't bring with is looter bait and will probably never be seen again. I figure a hundred rounds of 12 gage and a couple hundred .357 will keep me alive until I can get the wife and kids to someplace friendly. Once there they are common enough that I will be able to get more.
