Microsoft should shut down windows development and rehire their flight simulator team.

I hated vista. Meanwhile, two friends are using windows 7 beta and say it is apparent that MS is listening to the linux users. This thing is lean and fast. Kinda like when Ford bloated the Thunderbird and then shrunk it again.

At least that is my impression. We’ll see. My friend talked of 30 second boot up and not much memory needed (less than one gig?).

From what I’ve read about the DRM crap embedded in it, there’s no way I’m going to use it as an operating system.

> Windows 7 Starter

Available worldwide to OEMs on new PCs Missing Aero UI tweaks Limited to 3 simultaneous applications

Here are the 3 applications:

1) The DRM application: warning from MS that your new movie download is illegal, regardless if u paid for it.

2) The WGA application: warning from MS that your software applicaion is not compatible with MS.

3) The BSOD application: warning to call the MS 1-800 # whenever it crashes

I’m running Windows 7 and find it to be much faster than Vista. Takes up less ram. I have not had any problems at all, zip, nothing. The only thing is that you can’t use outlook express and have to upgrade you mail client, not a big deal, but a bit of an annoyance.

Wow, this like watching Congress work out the bailouts. Bloated and overpriced, and still doesn’t work worth a darn.

Wow. How awful. I used to be a Mac hater with intense passion, but I can’t wait to get one even though the suckers are so expensive. This is ridiculous.

a Windows 7 Starter edition, which will run only three applications simultaneously

Sounds like Windows Pro.

But to confuse matters, a Windows 7 Starter edition, which will run only three applications simultaneously, will also be available.

And it only requires 512 megabytes of memory to get up and running !

Windows 95 was better. MUCH better, and not a gargantuan resource hog.

I’ve been impressed with the speed of the Windows 7 beta. But I’ve heard that the beta doesn’t have any of the DRM activated, which could slow it to Vista speed when it’s done.

This is much ado about nothing.

Only nerds who like to naysay are going to make a big deal about this. The truth is that these OSs all serve a purpose and you know you are most likely always going to get ultimate or one of the two premiums.
