I think if we take a snapshot today the answer is no they would not, at least most would not follow those orders.
But, I also see things like openly letting gays in the military, pushing the good ones out and letting more notorious people in and just plan demoralizing the military will have effects in the long term and a couple years from now the answer to this question may be different.
Here is an example, how may stories have you heard about gang members joining the military for training and for getting someone on the inside? I’ve heard enough to make me unconformable.

I’m retired military and I do not believe that our military will turn on us. Even the unit commanders would refuse such an order.

The headcases are alrady ‘on the alert’ to protect Obama and would mobilize in miutes if Obama gave the order. They have their uniforms, they have weapons, and they are in a way placed well to do anything.
Obama doesn’t need Muslims or Somali recruits. Frankly, with the rap artists and Panthers I cannot fathom Obama bothering with a bunch of illiterate morons from Africa. He could also simply release the criminals and have the Panthers train them.

Obama Waffen SS truppen that is called “ Civilian Defense Force” is the tool that he would use for this. Policial reliable and beholding to Obama for their being. I also think this would lead to open revolt among the US Military, Kind of like that movie” Seven Days in May”. But only that would succeed. Obama would call NATO to keep our troops in their countries and Call the UN to “ Secure” Nuclear weapons bases.
There would be a lot of people who are just waiting for this to happen. That is why you cant buy ANY Semi Automatic weapons or the ammo that goes with them.
There are 300,000,000 privately-owned firearms in the US. Of that number, an est. 130,000,000 are unregistered/unknown to the government. I am certain we would see armed insurrection if The DC Communist Entity tried to grab them.
I think the military will either be confined to their barracks, or there will be an executive order leading up to the removal of weapons on US military bases.
Then Obama’s leftist ACORN thugs with the support of a national police force will come for our guns.

I think that’s close; from my assessment I’d say 70% would refuse; 20% would try to do it so they could gain political power... and 10% would be on the dime’s-edge, so to speak.

While active duty troops did respond to Katrina, they weren't sent in to disarm the people. All of the reports that I've seen indicate that the gun confiscation was carried out by the New Orleans PD, possibly with the assistance of parish sheriffs.

I don’t fear the military doing anything like turning against us...what’s scares me is when BO talked about a “civilian” force. A bunch of black panthers outside my door would really ruin my day.
Now, ask the same questions of those who would actually be doing the dirty work:
“Law Enforcement”. You know, those unionized, federalized, adrenaline junkies who love to get invited along on no-knock raids.
ATF, SWAT, DEA, you name it. Flash-bang incendiaries, machine guns, armored tanks in every county. They’d be on this in a heartbeat. Jockeying to be a part of the coming gun raids.
THEY are the “standing army” our Founders feared.
No way. They join this military because they love their country and the people in it. Obama isn’t like African dictators who coddle the military and let them get away with anything.
In Argentina, the military has always been the coddled child, it’s not that way here in America. The leftist brats hate the military and the military knows it. They disdained Clinton and I sincerely believe that they hate Obama. They know what he would do using them and they’re not going to be used. They follow orders, but in no way could they realistically follow an order to turn on their own citizenry. It would be turning on their families as well and if Obama threatened to target their families if they failed to follow orders, their families would be more than able to set up a network to protect themselves.
This African pipsqueak doesn’t realize that we’re not like Europe or South America. He can soak in all the adulation he wants, but like most useless academics, he doesn’t have the ability to get his hands dirty or think in a non-theoristic manner.
ALL of you are making a very important mistake.
It won’t be “The Military” that comes for your guns.
It will Obama’s S.A.-like “National Civilian Secrurity Corps”, as CIVILIAN DOD employees, now empowered to operate INSIDE AMERICA thanks to an Obama Executive Order.
It will be the LOCAL police coming for your weapons when you don’t pay the at least $25 PER WEAPON tax in current H.R. 45, The Holt Gun Licsensing Bill.
It will be BATF cominf for your weapons when they decide you are “Mentally Unfit”, Ie., you don’t believe that Obama is your messiah and savior, as listed in HR45.
The MILITARY will only come in when the people have been quelled, to “Maintain Civil Order”, after an Emergency is declared.
