Honestly, I dismiss his comments on Obama from the inauguration. If you were asked by the president of the United States to speak and are a public figure like he is, what are you going to do? You do it. And you say glowing things. He's always been apolitical but I think this case was unique. BTW, what do you think Tiger would think of Ayn Rand's works?

Speaking of which, there are a few Atlas screen names around here. Of course there is John Galt. I've seen hank reardon, Dagny Taggart, Eddie Willers, Francisco, Owen Kellog and Ragnar Danneskjöld. I read the book 11 years ago when I finished graduate school. I thought, at the time, how prescient Rand was with that book. Even more so now. It is amazing and scary to see it coming to life as we speak.

Come to think of it, I remember seeing those screennames here, but I hadn't read Atlas yet, so I never made the connection. The book had been sitting on my shelf for years before I finally read it only a few weeks ago.

Yes, it's nightmarish how close to reality the story is today. Yesterday, I almost fell over when I heard Glenn Beck talk about a solar panel company that Obama mentioned at the "porkulus" signing. The way it runs its business sounds just like the 20th Century Motor Company, complete with all employees having the same pay scale (no matter what their job description) and all major decisions made by consensus of all company employees. I posted more info here.

If there's a silver lining in this cloud, I guess it's that there's a renewed interest in the book now. Maybe it will bring us all together.
