Well, I've been here since '98 (and if you'd bother to read my profile you'd understand why)...But, at the risk or redundancy, I'd point out to you that philosophically I'm more in a center/right libertarian persuasion than that of a far-right Rushbot butt-kissing neocon (defined as those who profess love for country and flag and the "troops" who defend it yet have never bothered to put on the uniform and have actually expressed hope for our military's defeat when commanded by Democrats--i.e. Bosnia during Clinton). Accordingly, those Democrats and "RINO" Republicans (such as John McCain and Lindsay Graham) who HAVE actually worn a uniform have my deepest respect--this is not to say that I don't always find accord with their voting decisions. Now, you mentioned Benedict Arnold and tied him to Webb and I believe that is a stretch. Had you tied him to John Kerry--who did indeed betray his uniform by his demonstrated treason before the Winter Soldier conference of 1971 I would certainly agree with you--but Webb, to my knowledge, has never done anything remotely akin to Kerry's conduct.
Well, so sorry to let you down, but I am one of those neo-cons (which, btw, is also used by paleos and their left-wing allies, as an anti-Semitic slur). I don’t kiss Rush’s ass, because I haven’t regularly listened to him in well over a decade. I have had generations of members of my family to put on the uniform, and what it means to me is that those individuals should be a cut above the average American. That being a HIGHER level of character. As for Webb, as for Kerry, as for Rangel (yeah, he served), as for Murtha, these people are s-c-u-m. They have zero character, and all are a disgrace to those that HAVE honorably served.
For someone who has been here since ‘98, where were you throughout 2006 when Webb was thoroughly fisked on this website ? The media was more than happy to look the other way at this scumbag since they needed him to knock off Allen. If he were a Republican, he’d have been disemboweled for his conduct.
As for your FReeper page, given that you have the name of one of America’s greatest patriots as a villain (I’ll let you figure out who), you and I have profoundly different views of right and wrong.
