I just read up on Bloodhound ssc it looks like it would beat the NA Eagle.
Uh...yeah. By a country mile.
The NAE is designed (so Mr. Shadle says) to do about 800 MPH. They figured (when the NAE project was first laid on) that this is what it would take to get the LSR and keep it for a while, since nothing else like the NAE was being seriously planned.
Then, Richard Noble strikes again. He was the driving force behind Thrust SSC, the current record holder. He wanted a car that could hit 1000 MPH. And the reason he’s doing it? Not to gain more fame for himself, but to spur the British education system to produce more scientists and engineers for the future of Britain. He’s using this program as a catalyst to get Britain’s youth interested in math, science, and engineering...and totally blowing away the LSR as a side benefit.
(Of course...they’ll have to figure out what to do about the ever-increasing number of Muslims, who’d rather live in the Stone Age...but that’s another thread entirely.)
