I can’t really argue with that, if you know your smoking bothers someone and you choose to be considerate to their feelings by not smoking. But where I live in Washington State, they passed one of the most ridiculous smoking bans in the nation. No smoking in any bars (including cigar bars), and no smoking within 25 feet of any public building, literally forcing smokers into the street in many cases. So as a personal choice I can’t complain about not smoking—I don’t smoke myself. But I associate the anti-secondhand smoke arguments with the flourishing nanny/totalitarian state in the socialist hellhole of Washington.
I live about 45 minutes east of Syracuse. The Carousel Mall there has issued a No Smoking ban, not just for the inside, but the outside as well. No one can smoke anywhere on the grounds, not even in their own cars. They’ve turned the whole mall and the land it sits on into a Green environment. They have more parking spots for people who drive Green cars, than they do handicapped spots. And whenever I’ve gone there, none of the Green parking spots ever have cars in them.
