Country music singer Charley Pride dropped by the Arkansas Senate to lead lawmakers in a sing-along, and to praise the Little Rock hospital that removed a tumor from his vocal cords 10 years ago.
“Rain dripping off the brim of my hat, it sure is cold today...”
I love Charlie Pride, too. He was one of the first of many C&W singers I listened to, after studying classical music/ theory/ violin.
Good old Charley Pride. Bet he's wearing black slacks and a sweater. Every time I see him he's dressed about the same. Wife and I are big fans.
"Oh the snakes crawl at night. That's what they saaaaay..."
I’ve enjoyed Charley Pride’s records since I was a kid listening to them on KBOX-1480 AM in Dallas. He has one of the greatest voices in the history of country music.
I grew up travelling in the car with my Parents listening to 8 tracks of his stuff too. Fond memories indeed.
Yea, I can still sing “Is Anybody going to San Antone” without effort too. My folks were huge fans of Mr. Pride’s.
We saw him twice in concert at the Colorado State Fair during the late 60’s/early 70’s.
I was wondering what ever happened to him, what a great voice.....
