How does a man look into that face, or look at that Ponderosa, and find love? How does that work?
***Maybe she has money? Nah, that’s not it. Dunno.***
It seems that most of her dress attire is this way. She needs to go shopping for more seasonal clothing. If they’re really sick of the White House already, I don’t think the Secret Service would mind hanging around the mall for a few hours! ;)
Heck, she could have things brought TO her in the White House I would imagine. Her own personal “trunk show”.
Hey Michelle — or Mom-in-Law — THAT would be something really fun for the girls to do, too! Have a slumber party with clothing designers, and play dress-up (while shopping at the same time). Just invite non-high end designers if you’re worried about appearances - give some young designers a break or something (ones who haven’t made their “splash” yet, so to speak...).
Hell, you should be THANKFUL she wasn't wearing her little houndstooth ensemble.
Or the dress cut almost all the way up to her hootchie.
A couple of conjectures based on this picture:
1. The other woman is dressed in a non-descript black sheath dress. She blends into the background, (as do all the men, with their uniform power-suits) while Her Grace stands out from all the rest.
2. Her Ladyship’s dress flares — enabling Lady Obama to continuously declare a large personal space. This separates her even more from the masses of lesser beings; and is a declaration of her power over all around her.
I just hope there isn’t a vent in the floor anywhere nearby, YIKES...
***Dont help her! I love these threads!***
Exactly, we have enough to be upset about, we need some good laughs or we'd cry for the next 4 years!!!
I’m not entirely sure about the appropriateness of this - on one hand, almost all of us have dresses where you can see just a little more than you should be able to if you’re at exactly the wrong angle, but Michelle should also be aware that as a public figure, she’s going to be seen, photographed, and videotaped from every conceivable angle (especially the bad ones) every time she steps out the door. Either way, if the neckline were an inch or two higher, or she was wearing a cami underneath and had a little showing, it would be totally fine.
As far as rest of the dress, it’s OK - not spectacular but not too far from the kind of thing I might wear to a laid-back semi-formal or a swing dance night. It doesn’t resemble upholstery, the colors seem very well-selected, and Michelle seems to have caught on to the fact that the empire waist is ideal for her body type (plays up the chest and effectively hides the tummy and hips).
I completely agree with you - especially because it’s winter... The dress itself is more appropriate for a party, IMHO than an evening at the theatre (even if it isn’t as Formal as the Kennedy Center). Heck, she’s the President’s Wife - she can overdress and no-one would care! It’s the under-dressing that’s a problem, IMO.
Good heavens! I think she is competing with her husband to see which one can embarrass the country more!
*sigh* We have a President with no talent and a First Lady with no taste. It's gonna be a long four years.
Ugh... Why’d she go and move her foot forward? LOL I guess I spoke too soon. She should be able to stand in 5th for HOURS if she’s balanced. I wonder if it hurts her bones or something to stand that way (she does seem a little bow-legged, if her hips really are wide it could ache to hold her feet together maybe???).
I don’t know - that one doesn’t seem so bad on her. The cut seems to flatter her at least.
Doesn’t she have her own personal staff? I wonder what these people are thinking.
Ahhh, yes....you must be referring to the Camel Toe Collection.
She’s got her hands pressed down on that thing and it’s still jutting out like a parachute umbrella. Move over my skirt is coming through.
She’s definitely bowlegged and almost every outfit accentuates it. (short skirts) Except when she appears to be wearing spandex.
