I've always been amused by that line of reasoning:

A: "Waah, there were more Mexicans at the game than Americans!"
B: "Then why didn't you go to the game and even it up?"
A: "Soccer is gay."

Same goes for the people complaining that "the opposing team's fans taunted us." How effeminate is that?

I lost interest in travel to Mexico in the 80’s, when the drug culture began to turn that country from largely second world into a violent, third world hellhole.

I’ve never had much interest in “soccer,” except to support my five year old niece, who plays the game on Saturdays.

What does pique my ire is fans in Mexico, a presumed friendly nation, chanting “Osama Osama” at a US team, after 9/11.

You complain about people complaining about “soccer” being gay, and then turn around and make the same sort of “taunt.”

Very adult of you.
