If there is ever a gay pride parade in Dupont Circle I want to be a spectator. Would be fun to see the fights when the leather types go past in their chaps and leather jackets.

The existence of groups like PETA illustrate the inadequacy of our present society in dealing with certain smaller crimes and moral lapses. Authority should be given for use of the cat-o-nine tails, the pillory, the stocks, the dunking stool and the carting of the type of PETA wretch. The use of such social aids should be as close to summary as possible. The administration of such helps must be public and school children should be released to watch the PETA persons correction. There could be clowns, jugglers and high wire acts. The teacher could lecture the children about PETA fallacies while the whips sing. America would be happy again.

There’s much to be said as far as PETA types being humiliated in public but it’s no longer PC, I guess that’s the problem.

The Ben and Jerry's idea was right up there with the call to get "fish" re-named to "Sea Kittens".
I, for one, would have no trouble gutting and grilling sea kittens. Especially if they were of the rainbow trout, oops, I mean "calico sea-kitten" variety!

PETA has been harassing the Boy Scouts trying to get them to drop the Fishing Merit Badge, as it requires you to catch two different fish and prepare one of them for cooking.

Yep, the Sea Kitten thing was right up there too. They’ve got to have a wacko think tank coming up with this stuff.

The link for this article (Center For Consumer Freedom) writes anti PETA pieces quite often, you might check their homepage.

I hadn’t heard about them harrassing the BSA but it doesn’t surprise me.

Regarding number 2, my favorite thing when I see a woman wearing a fur coat is to ask “Is that real?” She then gets all flustered and says “yyyyyes.” I say, “and it looks great, keep wearing it.”

Could we get the Muslims worked up about this? They do see Jesus as a prophet and if phrased the right way we could have fun with this.

On Sept. 10, 2001, I was engaged in a lively discussion on another message board. We were laughing because PETA had called for a boycott of Dreamworks Studio because their logo is a little boy with a fishing pole. It all seemed so crazy and ridiculous on that day...

“>>One of the nuttiest ideas I read about was the PETA VP writing a letter to Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream wanting them to substitute mothers milk for cows milk. Ya just cant make stuff like that up.<<
Wow.
Although the milking might be more fun.”
Oh, that’s funny, gondramB (ROTFL).
I think I have a topic for my next column.
