I saw a show like that when I was overseas..we were told that if one resisted hypnosis they would not go under the spell, one had to be open to it. So I don’t know about this other bit that a person would not do what was counter to their ordinary behaviour. I saw people fall under the spell and make complete and utter fools of themselves and not know that they did this until told.

While listening to that 2004 speech, I looked up Obama on Wikipedia and found out that he was raised as a Muslim in Indonesia. That was all I needed to know. It didn’t matter what his religious affiliations of the time were, I knew that he was a Muslim as a young boy, and that Muslims thought that apostate Muslims should be killed. Obama wasn’t killed, so he must not be apostate. Obama hates America, like many of the radical Muslims.

Basically Miss Collins said that if you had deep convictions about something you would not go counter to those convictions. This applies in extreme behaviors such as attacking someone or murder.

NLP is not hypnosis, but it is reputed to appeal to the listener on a sub-conscious level.

One technique I noticed he used is called “time distortion” in which it basically has the listener imagine the future, as if they are there and to look back on the past (actually the present) as making a great decision.

Sales people use this technique.

Here is an example of Obama using “time distortion”:

Barack Obama: “I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”

Basically, he is instructing people to imagine themselves years from now, to place themselves into an ambiguous time in the future, and then to look back at this day as the defining moment when they made the decision to change their lives, the lives of their children, for the better.

Follow it up with a hearty “Yes we can!” and you have a bunch of idiots going to the polls and voting against logic.

It’s much like what cults do and what Hitler did, and as mentioned, sales people.
