Quite possibly, can't draw any conclusions about what type of business it really was from the story but it seemed to cater to a less than desirable clientele.
Looks like they thought the owner was skipping town. The report of him making multiple calls on the same day says to me that he got wind that they were, ah, “making inquiries”.
Nah, they'd just change some of the details. Instead of a grill store, it'd be a tattoo parlor and instead of homeboys, they'd be skinheads.
I like mine better...
I prefer a mesquite and charcoal mixed grill with bluefish, chicken, pork ribs, or some meat product.
This sounds like an episode of “The Wire.”
Her nephew, she said, planned to wear it to the funeral of a man who was killed while committing a robbery a couple of weeks ago.
Kyles said her nephew would not have been part of a robbery. He had been in trouble, she said, but he didn’t rob.
In November 2007, Davis was shot in the leg by an Omaha police officer. Davis had run when police stopped a car in which he was riding. The officer said he fired after the youth turned and pointed a gun at him. A loaded 9 mm handgun, which turned out to have been stolen, was found at the scene.
He didn’t rob he only attempted to rob. It looks like he was very unsuccessful.
I was going to ask what the hell a mouth grill is, but I see you have the answer.
If any freepers happen to want one (”Put yo money where yo mouth is”), they can be bought here:
(Select "jive" then hit the "Dialectize" button.)
Omaha honky pigs and da damn Douglas County Atto'ney's Office is investigatin' wheda' de shootin' deads uh two sucka's Tuesday night wuz justified.
It is funny, though. This story pretty much has all the negative stereotypes of "gangsta-thugs" present. I don't think any were left out.
Sixteen-year-old Marcel Davis and 29-year-old Willie Wakefield were found dead inside the store. A third person, 22-year-old Brandon Boyce was shot in the abdomen.
Davis and Wakefield went to Midwest Grillz at 62nd and Ames late Tuesday to pick up some gold plated teeth. Kleine says Wakefield was upset about the “grills.” He pulled a 9mm gun and fired two shots at store owner Andre McKesson.
Kleine says McKesson returned fire with an SKS rifle; getting off more than a dozen shots. 16-year-old Marcel Davis was not armed.
Police are still looking for a fourth witness to the shooting. According to Kleine, investigators have been told varying stories about what happened. At this time, he is not pressing any charges against Andre McKesson.
Count the number of parties involved
1 = Store owner
2 & 3 inside store for ‘grillz’
4 = just outside door - late evening
5 = “witness” police are looking for (aka as the “DRIVER” of the vehicle they arrived in)
To enter store, you must be ‘buzzed in’..
Once inside, an argument ensued about grillz, payment already received for said grillz and no delivery, and from here it goes downhill. Allegedly, one of the 2 inside pulled a handgun - owner fired back - party outside tried to get in - owner may think he is armed, coming to assist - driver hits the gas and is long gone...
Typical night in North Omaha...
Playaz are gettin’ their shine on with GRILLZ. Iced Out Gear has a sick selection of sparkling GRILLZ — one size fits all — no molds are necessary.
Get yours today and everyone is going to want to know, “Where’d you get your GRILLZ?”
Some of the comments on this post so far have been priceless. I'm LMAO!
He was such a good boy! Did you know he was an aspiring rap star?
That was quite a read !
Nam Vet
Andrew was the owner who took care of the 2 perps. Knowing your customers is a key to success.
He can sell the dead guys' grillz again for twice the profit. Quite a business model!
