Years ago, we had a coworker who flew RC helicopters. He brought one in to work and we went out to the parking lot at lunch to watch him play with it. It was a Bell helicopter replica, looked pretty realistic. He flew it back and forth around the parking for a few laps and then he headed out toward the main road throughthe industrial park.

There was a McDonald’s at the end of the street and at lunchtime, a lot of people from the industrial park would walk down there for lunch. On that day, 3 young women were chatting amongst themselves as they walked past our building heading for the McDonald’s. My coworker flew his helicopter out to the sidewalk and began crawling it down the sidewalk about 10 feet off the ground and about 20 feet behind the young ladies. They thought it was cute at first but two blocks later they were getting pretty annoyed.

Good junior high, guy-type fun. We got a chuckle out of it.

That's just the kind of stuff I love.

I still haven;t figured out what I'm going to do when I grow up...

Years ago an RC magazine published plans for “Vroom Hilda”, a radio-controlled flying witch on a broom. Her cape was a rogallo wing and the stabilizer and fin were made to look like the broom’s bristles. A friend of mine built it and takes it out every year on Hallowe’en. Never fails to stop traffic.
