In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

defalcate \di-FAL-keyt\, verb
to steal or misuse money or property entrusted to one's care

Example sentence:
The stockbroker defalcated millions from investment clients.

Etymology:
c 1540, from Latin defalcere, from de- + falx/falcem "sickle, scythe".

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Essay question: Was Obama really that naive, or did he know his ideals for “change” would not last day 1 in the Oval Office?

Good post. I still cannot get over how he was allowed to declare his son’s summer camp as a business expenditure on his taxes. I want that guy out of the job. A for you.

And didn’t she say that would happen per month if we didn’t pass porkulus? Too much Botox apparently rots the brain.

Completely and totally inexperienced and unqualified for the job. Did he think we wouldn’t notice once he got there?

Good Morning (this is a funny one.. had to do a double take)

In Order to hold Public Office or be a public figure as a RAT, one must have the following qualifications:

1) NOT pay or grossly underpay taxes
2) Have illegals on staff
3) Work diligently to Raise taxes & Kill babies in the Womb
4) Defalcate the public at every opportunity
5) Dress Dorky (esp if FLOTUS)

What I thought was funny was the look of betrayal on his face when he was asked obvious questions by the MSM on day 3. It was as if, “I thought you LOVED me!”

He said he didn’t find anything in the rules that said he couldn’t.

“Addendum 8701.b(a701c-43g):Deductions// Dear Mr. Geithner, you are not allowed to deduct your son’s summer camp as a business deduction. Thank you.”

It’s in there.

can you imagine that it is 14 degrees, feels like 1 degree with the windchill and the fire alarm went off at the ofc? fire trucks showed up, we were out there a full half hour freezing to death. when they finally gave the all clear to come back in i had visions of Black Friday at WALMART! unbelievable.

No doubt. Meanwhile, our other resident genius over in the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid says that we're not forced to pay our taxes...because our tax system is "entirely voluntary".

Note to Harry: Seems that it's only voluntary for dimocrats nominated to high-paying gubmint jobs.

Good God...these people are way beyond stupid.

It was 8 degrees when I took the kiddos to school. Now it’s all the way up to 11 degrees.

Once again, Ticketmaster defalcates on popular concert tickets. Springsteen whining about it is a bit comical, though. Ticketmaster and its employees have been ripping off fans for over twenty years, mostly in New York and New Jersey. I'm sure that Springsteen is shocked. He's so shocked, he forgot to take a few dollars out of the millions he'll make at The Meadowlands and start his own website to sell the tickets and block the bulk purchases made for scalpers.

That will severely limit the quality of people willing to take those thankless jobs but he’s too ignorant to know it. A+ for you. He’s yapping at the Prayer Breakfast now.

the wind is the problem here. i was fine on my way in, just walking from the garage into the building, but standing still and feeling the wind cutting through you was the rough part.

We had that kind of wind yesterday. It made your eyes water and your face ache. I am tired of winter.

i know, i feel the beginnings of a sinus headache from it. i don’t wear hats or any sort of head covering and the secretaries were chiding me about not having anything on my head with the recently debunked canard that 90% of your body heat escapes through your head!
