Oh no!!! Seen ‘em a passel of times, from the Bryan Gregory era to just a couple of years ago. I even have a beer can Lux threw from the stage at Irving Plaza many, many moons ago. R.I.P., Lux. We’ll miss ya!

...the Cramps are often cited as pioneers of "psychobilly" ...A term they got from Johnny Cash (in On Piece At A Time a song by Wayne Kemp, where he mentions "This is the Cotton-Mouth in the psychobilly Cadillac...")
From recording their debut album at Sun Studios (with Alex Chilton on the knobs) to imbedded references to their vast record and movie collection, Lux and Ivy lived the life.

The concert vid of them playing in a mental ward in the 70's is surreal.

Wow. Saw them at CBGB’s in the 70’s and again at the Whisky in 80’s. Always a great show with an interesting audience. I had no idea he was that old. Time does fly. RIP Goo Goo Muck.

Pure in your face rock’n’roll without silly artistic or political pretensions, with nonsense lyrics and stinging rockabilly guitars, what more do you want?! They don’t make them like that any more (or if they do, I’d like to hear the sounds.)
Lux was a collector of rare rock’n’s roll 45s, and he was the one who discovered (or at least popularized) for the world the great Hasil Adkins (also deceased.)

RIP, Lux.
I was kind of surprised to see a thread about this. I thought conservatives were supposed to be boring & stodgy when it came to popular culture. I got to see the Cramps here in San Diego at the Adams Avenue theater when it was still a theater.
Oh when the sun goes down and the moon comes up
I turn into a teenage goo-goo muck
Yeah I cruise through the city and I roam the streets
Lookin for something that is nice to eat
You better duck, when I show up, the goo-goo muck.
