Write access to NTFS in Linux has only recently started to mature.

When it does, and can provide the ease of functionality of Vista’s disk management, and consistent cross platform power management, which, along with promising speech recognition and overall stability, are things that make Vista preferable to XP (despite the latter’s speed), and has greater ease of configuration, then Linux may find wider acceptance.
