I’m not going to do research here. Her response did not address the charges. If they are true, she’s not going to win this one and it is not going away. I asked someone from Alaska if it was true. No one has said yea or nay.

The liberals (Marxists) around Boulder, CO had immediate Sarah Derangement Syndrome. That is what convinced me she is truly a good person. These leftists instictively love anything evil and hate anything truly good.

Yes, I remember that Grammy.

That’s why I was surprise to read this thread.

Okay, I Googled it. It appears that back in June 2008, some wolves were shot during an aerial wolf hunt. There was a den with some pup belonging to one of the females killed. The Fish and Game biologist decided it would better to kill the pups than let them starve to death. Not a common practice but when it occurs, it makes great propaganda for the fundraisers.

"You didn't answer my question. Is the state killing wolf pups in their dens?? "

Seems like you have a question, I assumed you would be interested in the answer.

Cedar Dave has been on FR a long time.

He is asking tough questions, which will come out later when Sarah runs for President.

Might as well get them out of the way now, and get the whole truth, quit letting the propagandists direct the discussion.

Fundraisers don’t raise funds so much as go into the pockets of the raisers! BS and good for the Gov’r to stand up to one of the worst scams running our country today!

All Sarah has to remember to deal with potential hostile interviews is to insist on live and unedited. That way it can’t be manipulated to make her look stupid and “gotcha” questions tend to make the interviewer look transparent and ridiculous.

Thanks for looking up the answer; I thought someone in AK could provide an answer without doing research. Anyway you’ve made my point that it’s a great propaganda point for not only fund raising but for radical greenie political commercials.

I work in the oil industry down here in NM and we are continually bombarded with more greenie regulations aimed more at stopping fossil fuel extraction than protecting the environment. These ads are just doing the same thing — focusing on this one action of hers because overall she’s a threat to the anti-freedom socialists.

Yeah I misread the sign on date, wasn’t wearing my glasses.

I just think if you have a question about the veracity of
some lib groups statements, you might want to find out the truth before posting.

As it turns out someone else took a couple minutes to google it and get the answer.

I love how they make this (youtube) ad so personal against Palin. Alaska has been controlling the predator population this way for decades and decades. The decision to do so is made by the state biologists, not Palin personally. Yet the attacks continue.

Anyone ever remember Knowles or Murkowski being attacked for this practice?

From this website:

http://theconservativecomeback.blogspot.com/2009/02/ashley-judd-vs-sarah-palin.html

Here's why they're doing it. 39 times more baby caribou survived being eaten alive by wolves!

That's how they need to sell this.
"Sarah saves baby caribou from being eaten alive!"

"Slaughtering wolves on the Alaska Peninsula appears to have had the desired effect — more caribou got a chance to live, according to biologists with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game."

"As ugly and as politically incorrect as the wolf killing might seem to some, they said, the helicopter gunning that took place earlier this year saved caribou, especially young caribou, from being eaten alive."

"Fall surveys of the Southern Alaska Peninsula caribou herd completed in October found an average of 39 calves per 100 cows. That’s a dramatic improvement from fall counts of only 1 calf per 100 cows in 2006 and 2007."

I think she has to do more. If you are campaigning for Leader of the Free World, you have to present yourself that way. You can't appear to be vulnerable. Gibson succeeded in patronizing her, edit or not, and that can't be allowed to happen again. She has to learn to handle these people deftly, a skill that doesn't come naturally to all of us, especially for people living in peaceful small towns in the USA, where everybody knows everybody including the editor of the local small town paper which is far removed from anything resembling a 'hostile press'.

Guiliani uses humor, along with a quick wit... he comes into the interview ready to hear outrageous nonsense and seems amused when it appears as predicted. Reagan did the same, and was great at turning things around, ie: when he was hit with a hard question that could have damaged him about his age during the Mondale debate, he responded: "I refuse to let age become an issue in this campaign, I refuse to use for political gain my opponents youth and inexperience." [Audience erupts in loud laughter and applause] (quote from memory)

There is a sincere decency in Sarah Palin that inspires devotion. We are so tired of the used car salesmen types. We hunger for 'real' people, and she is as real as they get. But genuinely nice people like her, and many of us, tend to expect the world to treat us the same way, with a certain respect. Gibson was about as pompous as he could possibly be in his best impersonation of a Principal talking down his nose to a Student. This does not look good for those trying to pick someone who can stare down a Vladimir Putin in an important series of talks with Russia, for example.

When Couric asked Palin which newspapers or magazines she read, Palin could have replied with some sarcasm: "Which liberal papers and magazines can we trust, anymore, Katie?" For example.

Palin needs to learn the fine art of rhetoric, and use it sparingly as the occasion requires... because being genuine and openly honest are some of the qualities that endear us to her, but slapping a Couric around with a mild sarcastic reply like that is actually re-directing the attack at the marxist media, deftly avoiding the attack on Palin which was to make her appear as uninformed.

Understand. I just was chided today for posting a comment without reading the thread, and I deserved it.

Just saw the DOW ad on Fox News a few minutes ago. Man, DOW (which is the same people who raise money for HSUS, PETA, others, and BTW, do nothing for ANY animals, domestic or wild)are howling up the wrong tree this time.

I’ve been reading your posts for many years. And have enjoyed them. I’m now an official oldtimer here on FR.

Billhilly ignores me these days, and it can’t be because he is catching so many crappie in the weather we are having down South.

But if he ever DOES respond to this thread, he’ll jump on your bandwagon too.

I think the poster just posted before thinking. Lawd, I’ve NEVER done that!!!!

Shucks, I still do it, and regret it the next morning (LOL).

I’m now an official oldtimer here on FR.

Congrats! And on February 14, I get to celebrate my first anniversary on Free Republic. Funny thing is, I still feel like a total newbie sometimes (and often deserve to be called such). But on Feb 15, I'm no longer a newbie!

Thanks for being a FRiend and for keeping me on your ping list!
