Yeee haaaaa! huge benefit to the nation in this - Daschle was the ultimate cynical ploy in the health care reform game. He came out of the box saying “we don’t need a 1500 page proposal - we need a simple plan.” Which is another way of saying - not that which is a sensible idea - but that which we can cram through the portal of the Congress. Daschle, in my book is right up there with Dick Durbin - he has this slow soft delivery, always the same whether he is delivering sunshine or stabbing Republicans in the back.

Good riddance M***********!

Daschle, in my book is right up there with Dick Durbin - he has this slow soft delivery, always the same whether he is delivering sunshine or stabbing Republicans in the back.

I would have to say that the person most close to Daschle in vocal delivery is...(drum roll)...his replacement, Harry Reid. Both spin there quiet, soft delivery as being indicative of honesty when, exactly as you say, they are the most dangerous kind of pol that smiles as they sink the knife.
