For the same reason that a lawyer says that you should put in articles of incorporation for a business “and any other lawful business”...
You don’t have to go back and rewrite the Articles of Incorporation again, when a lawful business opportunity comes up, just because you didn’t have the foresight to “know it” ahead of time... :-)
That language is for the same purpose as the language would be for “any other lawful business” in Articles of Incorporation...
