I live in Virginia Beach and I loved the OBX until the mid to late 1980s, it’s just too overbuilt for my tastes now.

I still like Duck and Corolla okay, but I can’t stand Nags Head, Kitty Hawk and KDH.

I agree about the over building. I had been vacationing here, in Duck, since the late 70’s and gradually observing the commercialization of the northern beaches. I now live in Southern Shores, not zoned for business, and it still has some of the old charm.
