Well y’all, I don’t often go to the stores but I did have occasion to venture out into the land of the living this past weekend and, from the size of the crowds of shoppers, it was apparent that we here in North Alabama are, once again, behind the rest of the nation. It was obvious to the most casual observer that these poor ignorant people had no idea that a recession was poised like an Aztec priest to rip the heart out of the eagle. The lines at the checkout counters were reminiscent of the pre-Christmas crowds. These people seemed to be oblivious to the economic storm that has the folks in the town by the Potomac running the money printing presses twenty-four seven at full speed or.... Maybe these Alabamians are not so dumb... Maybe they were just rushing to spend their money while it still has some value.
We went out to dinner Saturday night; it was the slowest we have seen for years.
I think seeing what the DemWits are doing to the economy is causing people to eat out less often.
