Don’t knock it till you try it.
You can’t really inhale the compost pile as deeply as one would a rose but a compost pile under this sping sun is the first outdoor spot to actually smell like spring and if you’re not allergic, it’s pleasant.
OK, I have smelt them and they were not pleasant. But that was in the middle of a hot, humid NY summer.
