A little story here - I used to go to the Humane Society to bring food and toys for the animals. Well, it was hard - because I always wanted to bring them all home.
One day, I took some towels and blankets that I wasn't going to use anymore, and, as usual, I walked down the aisle, petting each dog. Everyone of them was barking, "TAKE ME!! TAKE ME!!" I could hardly stand it. But one didn't bark. It was a Sheltie. She just sat there - her tail wagging, making serious eye contact, and I could 'hear' her thinking, "You want me - you KNOW you do".
I ran out of there, tears welling up, and never walked down that aisle again.
I still, to this day, wonder who she found to give her the home that I couldn't, at that time.
