Vanity~ Issues with google
google search

Posted on 01/31/2009 6:56:24 AM PST by AirForceMom

Is anyone having Google issues? Every search gives a warning under each web site. I have been using dogpile myself, but this freaked hubby out this morning.

Sorry for the vanity, first post and I hope I did it alright. Hubby woke me up and the coffee hasn't hit yet.

Hubby isn't a freeper yet, just a lurker. Gotta light a fire under him! At least he comes to get me when something comes up.
Is there a way to block google?
I'm removing any google reference from his favs. It may be painful for him but he'll survive lol.

Atta girl!!! add Altavista.com for him, it's an excellent search engine and also has the bablefish language translator, so he can read articles published in foriegn languages.

The ONLY thing I like about Google is ‘image search’. Is there another way to search for funny, political ‘shoops’ or cartoons in a large database?

Thank you! I had Freerepublic as our home page but switched it to Altavista. All his search queries are there too. Problem solved!

Well, I think altavista is the best, but there is also yahoo, lycos, ask (formerly ask jeeves)... and a whole bunch more.

Good luck and down with Google!!

I’d recomend using Altavista for search (I have, I’m trying to avoid google too). You should get rid of all the Google cookies, but google advertising (or adware) is on almost every site (it’s those banner ad’s) so unless you block adware cookies...
