I call her that because I’m not married to her son, I love her as a mother, and I’ll do whatever I need to in order to make her life a little easier while she is here. She’ll be going back to Boston the first week in April, and she is 83. I have no idea when I’ll see her again, if ever.
So I give her what I can while she’s here.

My own mother died far too young, so I’m borrowing my friend’s!

That’s got to be difficult. We have relatives in that age range, and sometime it alarms me to talk with them on the phone. They just don’t sound as hale and hearty as they used to. OTOH, on my side they’re setting new records for longevity.

She is a feisty little thing, and came up the hard way. I love her dearly, and will do whatever I can to help her out.
My own mother died in 1981 because she felt, at 71, she was “old.” That always bothered me. I have no intention of leaving this world until I absolutely have to!

OldTax-lady is 71, and she’s not old. Her friend Miz Mary is 77, and *she’s* not old! I think you have to have catz.

I have grandmothers who lived up to the max...114. I don’t plan on giving up until I can’t make decisions.
For now, I figure I’ll be here to haunt my kids....

We got folks here who are active and energetic at 88 and beyond, though some are less “here” than others.
I would love to pick their brains, but a lot of them just don’t want to give up the past to a “stranger.”
And with that, I’m outta here and on my way to bed. The birdz are telling me to shut out the lights and the cats are making the bed soft for me.
See ya tomorrow!

LoM's grandmother made it to... 106. Not quite the 5-generation quote of many generations before:
"Arise, my daughter and go to your daughter because your daughter's daughter has had a daughter."
We don't reproduce as rapidly anymore.

Sounds like a entanglement buffer coming out of alignment. It's not properly phasing the matter the way it used to.
Whack the side of the cabinet and let me know if that fixes it...

"Whack the side of the cabinet and let me know if that fixes it..." Is it possible someone may have mislaid a bag of ferromagnetic hardware somewhere nearby?
