Thanks again Bronx...
I have received enough good advice here to keep going. But man, was that tough! LOL
I really did look for a means to simply ask the moderators and when I could not find that way, I was pissed by the time I posted on a section I had not idea anyone followed.
I spend little time here usually. So I am not familiar with all of the bells and whistles. I usually just post for others to read and comment upon and run along with my day.
The flame throwers were ready today!
Spend more time...this is a great site. When you really piss people off you get FU freeper mail...I have a collection. LOL
One thing I didn’t comment on in my earlier post is that it is my reading that some of your frustration is in the issue of visibility, comment numbers and “views” for a thread.
We learned, when this was a smaller site, that it took activism outside the forum to move important issues forward, even when we had posted numerous threads about an issue.
We also saw that when we were a much bigger and well known site that there were still issues, that dispite repeated threads, the general conservative citizen just would not get fired up about, no matter how many threads were run about it on FR.
If the general conservative voter feels that (for example) Obama’s clouded birth citizenship is not an issue for them, ten thousand threads on Free Republic won’t make them elevate discussion about such an issue into something they will be active with their government about.
We can be individually informed by this site and then be active amongst our countrymen because of that, but we can’t assume that this is a general population indoctrination site, where just getting wide circulation will promote agreement in the country as a whole. There is already a creature that does that: ABC—CBS—NBC—NPR—NYT-WP—LAT. That creature with seven heads then has 90% of the balance of the media just parrot their positions.
We are fools to play their game. Keep in mind that in the late nineties when we were smaller and little known, probably more people in DC staff positions read items here than do now.
Finding the truth is often more powerful than finding the Podium.
