It would have been a good opportunity to practice the four corner offense. They probably werent using a shot clock.

It's a bad thing, in general, to get the kids to back off. It's good to put in those who need the most experience.

When one of my kids was five or six, he was an animal on the soccer field. His parents told him to back way off, and he never really was a useful forward for the rest of his "career" (through 1 yr HS). In fact, he eventually dropped out of soccer but basically became a defenseman in water polo and lacross.

It'd be better to have a mercy rule to just stop the game at some point (with the concurrence of the lower scoring team's coach).

Unfortuately, the four corners would have led to a “keep away” situation, with special needs kids chasing the ball fruitlessly as better taller plays tossed it away just as they were almost able to get the ball....uggggggggly as well....magritte
