The Covenant School fired its girls basketball coach Sunday, the same day he posted a message on a youth basketball Web site saying he disagreed with school officials who had publicly apologized for the team's 100-0 victory over Dallas Academy. In reporting the firing, Kyle Queal, Covenant's head of school, emphasized that former coach Micah Grimes "now only represents himself" when discussing the game, which has become a national talking point. Queal said he could not say whether the firing was a direct result of the posting and declined to answer any questions.

And don’t forget the biggest blowout in college football history, on October 7, 1917:
Georgia Tech 222
Cumberland 0
OK first off, He knew within the first two minutes of the game that team couldn’t roll with them! He knew they were not as good as them and had no chance...What does he decide to do now? Get to 100 and then lay off! You consider that fair??? I don’t see how you see his side of the story! You are entitled to your opinion and i am to mine! I believe they did what was right!
Oh, would you? I’ll tell you like i told some one else! It’s not worth stomping a bug if it’s already dead! This dude knew within the first 2 minutes of the game that they weren’t as good as his team and that they could smother them like no body’s business!!! He knew that! After that, i would call of the dogs right away! If you don’t, all that you are doing is embarassing the team even more...Why on earth would you want to do that!!!!!!
I understand where you are coming from!
This guy should have laid off and not pressed like he did!
He knew by the second quarter they stood no chance! If he wanted to show some class he shouldv’e done that DURING the game! He can’t do it now!!!
I am all for calling off the dogs- perhaps you didnt read my other posts where i mentioned the sportsmanship of going into the four corners offense in that situation, or that when i coached in Little league, we had a ten run slaughter rule in effect, which is a good rule, imo.
So, lighten up, francis.
The coach was put in an impossible situation by being scheduled to play a team so inferior to his. The jerkoffs who fired him are, IMO, covering their own butts for that underlying problem.
Wow, you signed on yesterday to come on here and throw a hissy fit? Do you have anything personal with a member of the losing team or school faculty? No need to attack canedawg, the poster said clearly from the get-go that he/she saw both sides but seems to me to be leaning on the side of the losers.
