Billy Joel is the quintissential “pop” musician. It’s fine to criticize the genre itself, but it seems a bit ridiculous to criticize someone who basically raised it to perfection, such as it is.

BINGO! Billy Joel does a fine job in his genre. The real problem is people who take pop music seriously. Hey, people, it's just ear candy.

I was never really a fan of Joel, but I REALLY liked the song “Scenes From an Italian Restaurant”.

However the article is ludicrous on the face of it. Billy Joel is very talented. He is a good songwriter, good musician and good singer. He isn’t as good as Frank Sinatra, but few are.

He’s better than most lead singers in popular rock bands from the last several decades. I don’t buy the articles argument one iota. Billy Joel must’ve gotten his sister pregnant.

The author merely proves the phrase: Art is subjective.
