I installed the Beta on my old desktop (older than my current laptop running Vista). It runs GREAT! I was very much impressed with the interface and the fact that it seems to run much faster while using fewer resources.
Honestly, I think Vista is just fine -- I use the Home version on my laptop and Business at work. But Windows 7 definitely does seem like a step up.

I've been running the Windows 7 Beta for 2 weeks now and can't find an issue with it yet. All my Vista programs and utilities work. World of Warcraft runs at 45-60 FPS. I think it's a keeper unless you've got and old computer.

The beta is doing well for me even under a VM on OS X. Quite speedy even compared to XP.
Their attempt to emulate the Dock from OS X is pretty sad.
Microsoft obviously did some good under the hood. Now it’s time for them to get some of their own ideas. Copying (or “getting inspiration”) from others is okay, but at least what you produce should be better than the original, not inferior.
