just because he's a Mason, no. but all things being equal plus one is a Mason means i know he's been investigated by his own Lodge and voted in my men that know him and are of good reputation. so that will always be a tie breaker for me.

Not really. You do get to know and trust other fraternity members, so you end up doing business with them.
