This is absurd.

If the DA girls can't compete at that level, then it's THEIR school and THEIR coach who should be ashamed!

Why put those girls into a situation like that? Why teach the students that they should go into a situation where they are in WAY over their heads, then expect their competitors to be nice??? That's a fantasy.

If this is the way the DA is preparing these girls for real life, then they are doing a SERIOUS disservice to them.

Real life is hard. Your competitors are not going to be nice. Get a very good, honest handle on what you're good at and what you're not good at. You can't fake it.

If you're not good at something, work hard at it and you'll probably improve. But don't ever throw a "that's not fair!" pity party because someone else won't lower the hurdles down to the height you can jump!

Life is hard and in this situation it would have done no service to the losing team to let them score sympathy points in an unnatural way. But there’s still no excuse for the winning coach not playing a slower pace style offense and defense with his backups. It would have given his girls practice in playing a tempo they’ll probably need later on while at the same time giving the outmatched team a chance to compete with more dignity. I doubt any of the players on either team learned anything worthwhile basketball-wise in that game except that one of the coaches acted viciously and immaturely and showed little respect for the sport, this particular game or either team.
