This is absurd.

If the DA girls can't compete at that level, then it's THEIR school and THEIR coach who should be ashamed!

Why put those girls into a situation like that? Why teach the students that they should go into a situation where they are in WAY over their heads, then expect their competitors to be nice??? That's a fantasy.

If this is the way the DA is preparing these girls for real life, then they are doing a SERIOUS disservice to them.

Real life is hard. Your competitors are not going to be nice. Get a very good, honest handle on what you're good at and what you're not good at. You can't fake it.

If you're not good at something, work hard at it and you'll probably improve. But don't ever throw a "that's not fair!" pity party because someone else won't lower the hurdles down to the height you can jump!

You sound sort of feminine... kind of tender and easy to offend. Im embarrassed.... but for you. You relalise this is on the internet forever dont you? LOL

I assumed you are a woman, so why are you saying someone is "feminine" as an insult?

So when confronted with your complete foolishness, you complete misunderstanding of something you pretended to know something about...you say someone sounds "feminine"--like that's the worst thing you can think of in the world to call someone?

How gay of you.

Meow!!! Cat fight!

Seriously..go back to your first post to me and then tell me you weren't the one acting like you know everything about learning disabled kids?

Good grief so you work at a school and some kids can skateboard ... or shoot baskets...

I never once said those kids were retarded or limited...you just somehow read that into what I said. And I was right its pointless arguing with girls like you, you don't even read the posts or the article until your countered with a superior intellect like mine

My whole point madame was that after 50 or 60 to zip they didnt have to press or steal every ball or play the first team! lol

Some how that translates into I'm on a highhorse and arrogant about knowing all there is. I do know much more than you think though and find it preposterous that these kids think playing a second team or JV is worse an insult than getting humiliated 100-zip. BS From my experience with the same situation its the opposite if done with the right heart.

But I guess that's not what they look for in your school. Is the school in this article your alma mater...is that why your so sensitive? You do seem to have trouble learning....but hey I bet you can skate board well. No you play the flute I bet.

Maybe what they feel is karma. I know some in sports that think if you have too great a blow-out you will invite bad luck. It’s an idea we see with the Yankees beating the Red Sox 19-8 to take commanding 3-0 lead in 2004 playoffs. Earlier in the year the Yankees experienced the largest defeat in the +100 year history at the hands of the Indians (22-0). Seems like routs indicate change in fortune.

Life is hard and in this situation it would have done no service to the losing team to let them score sympathy points in an unnatural way. But there’s still no excuse for the winning coach not playing a slower pace style offense and defense with his backups. It would have given his girls practice in playing a tempo they’ll probably need later on while at the same time giving the outmatched team a chance to compete with more dignity. I doubt any of the players on either team learned anything worthwhile basketball-wise in that game except that one of the coaches acted viciously and immaturely and showed little respect for the sport, this particular game or either team.

Well, I wasn’t referencing public high schools since the poster to whom I was responding mentioned Loyola and Notre Dame. :)

"Come on people, this is just rotten sportsmanship. The coach should be ashamed.

You know, your absolutely right on this, and the coach should be ashamed. I know it sounds quite liberal to some, but there was a time in this country when most schools and people in general, had a sense of sportsmanship.

It's alright to go out to win, but to humiliate your opponent is not necessary unless we're talking war: and war is no sport!

"They should apologize...and the Covenenant coach should be dismissed."

Apology yes! Dismissed? Now your sounding like a commie lib.

The coach should be "dressed down" and warned that this should never happen again, and if it does: then he can be moved to doing something that doesn't require coaching in competition.

Just because he has no sense of sportsmanship doesn't make him evil or worthless.

You do realize that droning on about this in your fey, insulted manner just shows you're completely out of your league in discussing this, right?

The fact that you're so bitchy ("Meow! Cat fight!") while calling me "lady" only shows you have issues about your own masculinity on top of not having any clue about this topic.

Some how that translates into I'm on a highhorse and arrogant about knowing all

Blah blah blah... Bye now. And good luck with your gender issues.

I guess these days, “...Two, Four, Six, Eight, Who do we appreciate...” would get you send to “reeducation camp.”

Sorry, I played some football and have kids who have played sports. There is a difference between being competitive and being guilty of bad sportsmanship...the coaches should be ashamed. Another poster suggested these kids may be handicapped? If so, it is even more despicable.

In all fairness, the other school was apparently a small school for kids with severe learning disabilities. It was probably fairly easy to rack up points against them, and I doubt that it will give them much to boast about.

I've scrolled thru about 10 responses and arrived at the core response. This was a "special needs" school. PC translation: the girls are retards. I can't believe the coach ran up the score on the tards. This person (because I'm not sure whether F or M) should be dismissed.

Every athlete will tell you that a good drubbing teaches the team something.

However, with special needs kids, what does each team learn???

To offer a win after beating the tards 100-0 actually offends the tard's intelligence.
