he made reference to Cotillion and how you should place your knife and fork to indicate your plate is ready to be cleared. I thought they’d have to find the smelling salts. ;-)

I'll bet. It can be a surprise to find that they learned something because of us and it made an impression.

I had my grandmother, born in 1900, to tell me how to behave like a lady and not a heathen. LOL "Cross your ankles, NOT your knees" and other such admonitions. Bless all the old ones who gave us their best. :-)
