I just checked a long ignored yahoo email account of mine (not used in at least 6 months) and discovered hundreds of emails, the titles of which follow the same general format:
[FreeRepublic] Pictures of young and Sexy College girls
With all manner of descriptives after the [FreeRepublic] part. What gives? How is this happening? Any ideas?
Did you include pictures of that awful smut? How can I determine the valididty of your claim without some form of pictorial evidence. I did not recieve any smut literature from Free Republic. I have been around here for a long time so why am I being excluded from the smut dispribution. Do I have to sign up some where?
If you are subscribed to the Yahoo Groups “Free Republic” group, I would suggest you unsubscribe. I had the same problem for a while last year. It stopped immediately after I got off that list.
Calling Laz. Please pick up the white courtesy phone. ;-)
I sent an angry email to a liberal company once and the next day my mailbox was flooded with porn. It’s how liberals fight if your car is not available to key.
I'll never do it again.
Until next time.
I think they were meant for me. Go ahead and forward them......thanks.

Yahoo is Tracking Group Members
If you belong to ANY Yahoo Groups - be aware that Yahoo is now using "Web Beacons" to track every Yahoo Group user. It's similar to cookies, but allows Yahoo to record every website and every group you visit, even when you're not connected to Yahoo.
Look at their updated privacy statement at http://info.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yahoo/details.html"
About half-way down the page, in the section on cookies, you will see a link that says WEB BEACONS. Click on the phrase "Web Beacons." On the page that opens, on the left find a box entitled "Opt-Out.". In that section find "opt-out of interest-matched advertising" link that will let you "opt-out" of their snooping. Click it and then click the opt-out button on the next page. Note that Yahoo's invasion of your privacy - and your ability to opt-out of it - is not user-specific. It is MACHINE specific. That means you will have to opt-out on every computer (and browser) you use. Please forward this to your other groups. You might complain, too, but I'm not sure if anyone is listening. I remember when they signed all users up to get spam and we had to opt out of that a few years ago.
You could try putting a couple clicks between you profile and the other content.
At Yahoo, I get ads for Viagra, and I’m a woman! There are so many layers to Yahoo that it’s hard to keep your email address private. Yahoo’s default is to have you share your information with everyone. In order to turn it all off, you’ve got to use your mail blocks, your spam filters, etc etc. It takes a long time to even find all that stuff. And once they have your address, it’s too late to even put a block it. I’m dealing with this on an everyday basis on Yahoo. Thanks, Yahoo, for your stupid defaults. What I don’t understand is WHY they would allow your information to be public as the DEFAULT - thus allowing their users to be hit with spam on a daily basis.
