Were the Stools every stolen from another city?
From 1933 to 1940, Pittsburgh had an NFL franchise named the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1933, the Philadelphia Eagles began as an NFL franchise, named in honor of the emblem of Franklin Roosevelt's WPA project. In 1940, the Pirates moved to Philadelphia and became the Eagles, and the Eagles moved to Pittsburgh and became the Steelers.
The Steelers are the only NFL team to only have a logo on one side of their helmet with the other side blank. The United States Steel Corporation provided helmet stickers to the team, but the original shipment didn't include enough stickers to put logos on both sides of all the helmets. By the time the Steelers received the stickers for the other side of the helmets, they had decided they liked having the logo on only one side.
