I confess ... hellevision has robbed me of some life realities.

Though I served in peace-time Korea (51st Sig. Bn., Uijongbu .. '65-'67)), and experienced some of that bitter cold, sometimes on FTX, I just bever associated the naval experience, and carriers especially with wind, snow and ice.

Brrrr .. damn, youse some tough mothers.

Also .. though I knew military aircraft generally had no heat, I never realized how much heavy gear was worn.

Brrrr .. damn, youse some tough mothers.

OTOH we got hot chow, warm racks, a shower and clean, dry clothes to wear each day. We also were within 1000 feet of anywhere we had to walk to.
