Can we take bets as to how much longer XM Radio survives?
Do you think XM will make it to the end of the year?
We have enough talkers on the air who know how to rant against the left, it's time we support someone who knows how to duke it out with them. I have nothing against this 'church' guy per se but to replace Roy Masters with him is a joke IMHO.
Don’t know how long XM/Sirius will last; I bought XM back
in March and am doing it by the month (it works out to
43 cents per day). I do like it for some of the music
channels, talk, and baseball games and sometimes I’ll listen to or tape it on my computer.
They had the big merger with “Uncle Mel” Karmazin’s
Sirius (what did he pay Stern, $500 million?) and recently
(Nov.) a bunch of channels got moved or eliminated (cost
cutting due to huge debt?)
I didn’t listen to Masters for more than a few seconds; thought it was an advice show or something. All I knew
about the guy, really, is that I think he started Talk
Radio Network (Ingraham, Savage, Phil Hendrie) and his
son Mark runs it.
That Stern thing was retarded
With my iPhone I have access to a few thousand radio stations in addition to my music on my iPhone.
Not sure if XM can survive the iPod/iPhone and the current economy.
The show covers politics, science, spiritual, diet, religion, basically all aspects of one’s life in general and nightly gives us info (advice) in the art of psychological warfare with the enemy on the micro and the macro scale, something no other talk radio show, secular or religious can offer us right now, I love Savage but he's no threat to the powers that be, Masters is. Try listening more than just a few seconds, you just might like what you hear.
Iphone? How does that work?
The iPhone has apps that will stream radio stations over the 3G network. I have used it while driving around town and even driving 500 miles on the interstate. It hardly ever loses the connection and when it does it is only for a second or two.
Yeah Levin does indeed add an hour starting Feb 2 on his
“terrestrial” stations, but not sure if XM will do the same.
Ah OK, thanks!
Well, he can get a lot more variety, and he probably only pays a little additional for what he is paying for the phone/data, etc.
I believe most of XM is available on the iPhone also, but you have to get a seperate subscription and the audio quality is less due to more compression. I have heard more complaints about that service than kudos.
I have been looking at a portable XM device like an Inno, to take on walks, etc....but am leary at spending $300 for something that might not work anymore if Sirus/XM goes under.
Apparently there was one duel mode radio introduced at CES....with both XM and Sirius...but I havent seen what that subscription costs, etc.
U need to step up to The War Room with Quinn & Rose XM 158 from 6 am to 10 am and through the internet via affiliates such as WYSL see their web site: http://www.warroom.com/affiliates.php.
Bill Bennett is still trying to give Obama a chance just like Hannity. I guess they’re waiting for their invites to the White House. Hey so-called Conservative punditry...why didn’t you wait for BHO to be cannonized and go to the White House for diner instead of George Will’s digs? You guys sold out cheap...real cheap!
Quinn on the WR thinks the reason why BHO met with this grusome crew is because he wants to isolate conservative talk radio. These are the good conservatives and Limbaugh and Hannity and their ilk are the bad conservatives. Yes..its okay to publish columns in newspapers that no one buys or on the Faux Network, but not on the radio. After all John Podesta is part of team Obama and he heads up Media Matters.
Because in one unit I have a phone, the Internet, e-mail, an iPod and access to thousands of radio stations.
Great point about the ‘Advice Line.’ It would be great to see Roy rebrand with a more all encompassing tag line that really fits where he is at and the density of what he has to offer. I agree it is so much more. It is always hard to brand such a dense ‘product,’ but it can be done. Nike—”Just Do It” is a good example or personal computing rather than desktop systems (Apple). Roy is a reinventor too. He just needs to recapture in a new brand. IMHO. :-D.
It is difficult to spend much money on 'delivery systems' right now as so much is in flux and the devices generally cost so much. If it was $19.99 it would be so much easier.
If Steve Jobs passes then everything is going to change even more and given the recent developments this could happen soon. A little off topic, but the iPhone was mentioned and Apple too has been a big player in the delivery system innovation end.
General state of FLUX.
