Attempting to pull another brick from the foundation of this grand experiment.

Seems to me two terms is a plenty...more than enough for many of the Presidents in my lifetime.

Our constitution is being undermined with amazing speed these days and even conservatives can’t be bothered to acknowledge it.

My state recently passed hIB-6610 in one house of the legislature. If passed into law it sidesteps the constitution and uses the electoral college to take the vote away from the people. the interstate compact to elect the president by national popular vote has already been made into law in 4 states, has passed both houses in 4 states, and 1 house in 6 more.

What it is is an agreement between member states to give ALL electors to the popular vote winner of all member states combined. For instance, if your state votes 100% republican but enough votes for the democrat are collected in other states, your electors will vote democrat regardless of how your state voted.

This gets filed about every year. I doubt it will go anywhere.

The original Constitution had no limit on the number of terms a president could serve- a constructionist should look forward to this return to original intent.

“Our constitution is being undermined with amazing speed these days “

That was the complaint when A22 was first proposed!

there have been over 22,000 proposed amendments to the constitution since the inception of this country, only 27 have made it all the way...it is next to impossible to amend the constitution, and it is that way by design...thank god for the foresight of our founding fathers

When people talk to me about getting rid of the Electoral College I make the case that the Senate must go too.

It has often happened that the House, the voice of the people, will pass a much-needed bill, only to have a few people in the Senate shoot it down.

it has happened that the house vote represents over 60% of the people, and the Senate vote killing it less than 20%.

This injustice must stop! he heh

The interstate compact to elect the president by national popular vote doesn’t worry about amending the constitution, it simply sidesteps it by forcing individual states electors to vote for the popular vote winner.

Who’s the idiot who introduced this? Fortunately, I don’t think it will ever pass state ratification nor will efforts to abolish the Electoral College.

then my suggestion would be to put the issue on the respective state ballots and have it eliminated....if it is a state issue, the citizens of the state can stop it
