My point remains that if anyone is going to break into your house at 3AM to take your guns, kill your pets, and burn your house down if you don’t comply, it’s won’t be the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines. It’ll be SWAT, ATF, DEA, etc.

I won't deny the truth of that but the dynamic of the situation changes when you go from doing it to one house to doing it to all houses. Even my tiny 150 home town becomes a major news story if it were tried. The media might have sucess in painting us as militants for liberals but most of flyover country would recognize that they're next.
