That is the best chili in Washington. I like the halfsmoke, split and fried, with onions, chili & cheese. I can feel my arteries clogging with every bite, but it’s worth it. Do not wear dry-clean or light-colored clothes to Ben’s.

Many years ago, there used to be a half smoke shack with a walk-up window in Alexandria, down by the railroad tracks. Those in the know would order one with, “Half smoke, all the way.” Meaning, put everything on it.
