They have to get them from the "Bauer gland", it rests on the bladder and allows the Bauer bloodline to go 24 hours with having to use the restroom. If they mess up, Kim Bauer will have to use the bathroom 3 or maybe even 5 times a day. Jack couldn't let Kim live with that.

I agree. No big deal here and they shoot the stem cells into Jack though that hole from the spinal tap
