Traditionally this is the weekend where some of the NFL's greatest games have been played. Every year we see replays of classics like the Dolphins-Chiefs playing the longest game in NFL history or the immacualte reception. What I'm interested in is your opinions of some great divisional playoff games that haven't received their fair share of fame over the years. One game I don't think gets talked about nearly enough was the Jets-Browns 2 OT game in January 1987. For those not familiar with this game Cleveland overcame a ten point deficit in the final minutes to eventually win the game on a Mark Moseley FG in the double overtime. It was an incredible game that has been overshadowed by the fact that the following week John Elway crushed the hearts of Cleveland fans with "the drive" in the AFC Championship game.

Well that's a game that I think has been overlooked. What about you?

Tomorrow I’m hoping the Eagles win. I like McNabb. He seems like a nice guy who loves his mother. :)

Bears-Giants ‘85...frigid weather...Jint’s punter wiffs on the ball when the wind blows mid punt kick leg swing...

This weekends’ games may be the best four all season.

Go CUBS!!!!!!

Titans, Cards, Giants, Chargers will be the winners this weekend (my prediction, FWIW). What’s yours Perdogg, out of curiosity?

January 10th - 8:15PM ET Cardinals/Panthers.

Rarely watch late games, unless it's the Broncos, and even then it's a chore. Many of these games get stretched out beyond 3.5 hours ... how can a game with 3 minutes left on the clock take 12 to 15 minutes to complete? Happens all the time.

Help me out someone. What exactly is a Titan? Anyways lets look at the Cardinals-Panthers game. The cardinal can soar and fly nicely. However let’s face it the cardinal is a somewhat unattractive bird plus the word cardinal has been adopted by a religion that excludes gays and women. The panther is a adorable animal. Who could not love a panther (as long as your not in Pittsburgh). SO I say you have to tae the Panthers over the Cardinals in tonights game. IMHO.

Looks like it is once again possible for all Pennsylvania Super Bowl. It would only be fitting though since we produce the best quarterbacks the league has ever seen.

one forgotten game is the NFC divisional game in San Francisco when Roger Staubach led the Cowboys to two TD’s in the last two minutes of the game..one reason it is probably forgotten is that the Cowboys got whipped next week in Washington in the NFC title game..but it was quite a comeback..

Good job mainepatsfan!!!

I can tell you I was at that game in ‘87, sitting in the endzone opposite the dawg pound in old Municipal Stadium.

Of course everyone remembers how the game ended, but here’s some other tidbits to consider.......

The game should have never gone into overtime to begin with. We know Mark Mosley won the game with a FG, but in regulation time Mosley missed not 1, but 2 very short FG’s, the first one a 30 yarder and the second only slightly longer.

Mosley kicked a sort FG to send the game to OT. What set it up 2 plays earlier. with about a minute to go was a long completion from Bernie Kosar to Webster Slaughter inside the Jets 5. The Browns players then proceeded to celebrate burning 30 seconds of time, and forcing a incomplete pass on 1st down. Since the Browns had used all their timeouts on defense, Mosley had to kick the FG.

Mosley’s 2nd FG miss was in the 1st OT. And finally after watching Kosar throw for 487 yards, he kicked the game winning FG to end it!!!

Weekend predictions.........

RAVENS 20 TITANS 13

CARDINALS 24 PANTHERS 28

IGGLES 23 GIANTS 16

CHARGERS 13 STILLERS 24

“The Drive” in the Browns-Broncos game was the absolute best drive I have ever seen. I was in awe. And my team ended up losing that game.

Well I'm rooting for the following teams:

Cardinals even though I think they are going to lose..
Titans, Jeff Fisher used to play for the Bears..
Bolts, they are better than the record indicates. If it wasn't for the blown lead and the bad call they would have been 9 - 7 or 10 - 6. Plus their defense has improved.
Jiants and Iggles.. I hate both of the teams.. I just hate the Jiants (since they are from New York), as for the Iggles I hated them since Buddy Ryan was their head coach...

Well that's a game that I think has been overlooked. What about you?

One of my favorite divisional games was the "Mud Bowl", when the 49ers came to Green Bay back in 1997 and played in rainy but mild conditions that tore up Lambeau Field.

Yes, divisional games are when the greatest NFL games are played. I'm looking forward to today's and tomorrow's games, should be classics.

Predictions; last week 4-0, against the spread 3-1:

Ravens (+3) at Titans

Rookie QB way over his head and on the road (should I say more?). Ravens D is over rated. While most games are physical this one will be ridiculously physical. Titans are rested and for real, for one more week. Close game and fun with low scoring.

Conditions: Around 50 degrees, 80% chance rain, wind 10-20 mph with small gusts

Titans 20 - Ravens 13

Cardinals (+10) at Panthers

Bet the house, the car, the dog and the wife. One of the easiest games to pick all year.
You talk about luck, the Cardinals fell in a bucket of it last week.

Conditions: Around 50 degrees, 40% chance of rain, wind 10-20 mph.

Panthers 37 - Cardinals 17 (17 if they get lucky again)

Eagles (+4) at Giants

Gees, another easy game to pick. McNabb will revert back to his pre-benching pattern and might be playing for Detroit next year. Oh, it is so much fun to listen to Eagle fans cry and whine where I live. I wish they would pull the upset and keep an Eagles/Steelers game possible. But I am afraid there is no hope. It won’t be a blow-out. But class prevails here.

Giants 24 - Eagles 13 (maybe 16 because of Akers)

Chargers (+6) at Steelers

Toughest game to pick by far because the Steelers offensive line is (still) suspect and the Chargers D has gotten stronger to make it this far. Two things will be possible factors here:
1. The field surface has been replaced again during the last three weeks and nobody knows how it is going to play. It was soft and starting to pull up during the Steelers last game. If it is slow it will help the Steelers, if it is hard (20 something temperatures) and fast it could help the Chargers.
2. The punters. Yes the punters. The Burgh has the worst and the Bolts have the best. This could be hugh for field position.

Conditions: Around 26 degrees, looks like no rain but cold small winds 5-10 mph.

Steelers 27 - Chargers 20

I’ll never forget the 1982 Chargers - Dolphins game.

” The game is remembered not so much for the records it set — most points scored in a playoff game (79), most total yards (1,036) and most passing yards (809) — but more because it pushed every player involved to his limits.”

“I’ve never felt so close to death before,” said Chargers tight end KELLEN WINSLOW.

1990-91 NFC: New York Giants 15, San Francisco 49ers 13

Long awaited rematch after SF (10-1) went against the NYG (10-1) in week 13 of the season. SF won in that one 7-3.
