Reports have it the Browns made several contacts with Shanahan’s agent. who imformed them that it would be several weeks before his client would talk to anyone regarding any coaching opportunities.
If I were Randy Lerner, I’m waiting. Hire Pioli and let him know that he won’t be picking the next coach. But again, Randy rushes into a big move without examining every move.
Mangini will also announce that Raiders defensive coordinator Rob Ryan as def. coord., and na.e Jets OC Brian Davoll as OC.
Lerner blew it big time. He had the opportunity to sit back and woo either Schottenheimer(my choice) or Shanahan. But his immaturity and ADD wouldn’t let him get past the Super Bowl. There was no reason to pick Mangini now, nobody else wanted him. So he doles out another 4 year contract that he will have to eat in under two years.
Can’t forgive the Lerner family for the part they played in letting Modell waltz out of town. A new owner is what the Brown’s really need.
