Busy Gupta performs brain surgery, reports for CNN Television Writer David Bauder, Ap Television Writer – Wed Jan 7, 5:54 am ET AP –

If Barack Obama wants a surgeon general with visibility to promote health issues in his administration, it can't hurt to hire a CNN correspondent called one of People magazine's "sexiest men alive."

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a practicing neurosurgeon and one of CNN's busiest personalities, is under consideration by the president-elect for the job. Should the offer come, CNN said Gupta has indicated he is likely to take it. Obama will have a man who has interrupted a TV assignment to perform emergency brain surgery and gotten into it on air with Michael Moore...

When reporting for CNN on a U.S. Navy medical team in Iraq in 2003, Gupta unexpectedly became part of the story when he was called upon to conduct emergency brain surgery on a 2-year-old Iraqi boy shot by U.S. Marines when he was in a car that did not stop at a checkpoint. The boy did not survive.

"Medically and morally, I thought it was absolutely the right thing to do," Gupta told The Associated Press at the time. "It was a heroic — it was not an elective operation, it was a heroic attempt to try to save the child's life."

Gupta took on "Sicko" filmmaker Moore in 2007, saying in a fact-checking report that Moore had fudged some facts in his documentary on the health care system. It led to an angry on-air confrontation between them. "I and others are going to be a lot more skeptical with what I see on CNN," Moore said...

He has made a handful of political donations to Democrats, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

He must be the one who discovered the Liberal lobe of the brain. It has been expanding due to overdoses of MSM propaganda. Disguised as “news”.

I’d go for an obesity tax in a heartbeat...just add it to their McDonald’s bill...hell it would shink the deficit by half in a year. So flame me I don’t care...

Better to start weighing people and tax the overweight. Why should I have to pay a tax to McDonalds if I am in good shape and exercise enough so I can have a McDonalds burger?? Taxing selective foods is not the way to control obesity.
It is calorie in, calorie out...no matter what you eat!

Examine this statement before you conclude that it is self-aggrandizing;

“Medically and morally, I thought it was absolutely the right thing to do,” Gupta told The Associated Press at the time. “It was a heroic — it was not an elective operation, it was a heroic attempt to try to save the child’s life.”

To the lay person it would sound self-congratulatory but to a doctor it is an admission that the prognosis for the procedure was likely failure.

Such is the nature of the birth of cynicism delivered in the breech of brutal conflict.

War will come to define this administration as it has all previous ones for war is the natural pastime of mankind.

The fact that he gave the cheap, lying propagandist Tubby Riefenstahl a public slap is a mark in his favor. :)

Gee. DoD thinks so.
http://oasdalerts.illumen.org/article.jsf?postId=11990

Why don’t you track down CPL Jesus Vidana, USMC who is the recipient of his surgery.

No, no, no!! I know. CNN, Vidana, the Marine Corps, DoD and everybody in the operating room KNEW that one day Obama would be elected and he would then nominate Gupta to be SG and by having a wonderful story about Gupta and a Marine, it would be oh, oh, oh, so wonderful.

If you ever go to court, do youself a favor and be SURE you have a lawyer. Defending youself with your assertions would be fatal.
