I'm a DIRECTV customer. Starting a couple of days before Xmas, the program guide all of a sudden started acting funny. I'll let a poster with the same problems* on DTV's tech support forum ( http://forums.directv.com/pe/action/forums/displaythread?rootPostID=10475141 )pick up the story from here...
12/23/08, looking thru channels to see what was on, i noticed that all the channels i get between 303 and 399 have their schedule messed up. a 1/2 hr show will show up as running for the entire 2 hr time slot. then if i go into the future, the next show will be running for 6-8 hrs even if it is a 1/2 hr show. this happened with spike tv when it moved to chnl 241. it took about 3 mths for a "fix". tech support was their usual useless self. any ideas? there was a thread for the spike tv debacle but no resolution was mentioned. Also, the thread had only older boxes. don't know if this is an issue or not.

Any other FReepers having this problem? BTW reception of the actual programs is not affected, just the grid. And a young (college age?) DTV repairman's visit on NY'sD didn't get anywhere. He was clueless as to what he was looking at. ):-/
*No, I'm not that poster, although I made a couple of my own contributions to that thread under the handle jmotor.

I find it interesting that it required a purchase of 2 *new* receivers for you to get the on-screen guide.
Yes, I have the same problem. One receiver is original from ‘95, and the other from ~2001. Since both ARE still working I am reluctant to purchase others ... especially since I OWN these 2 ... if I get new ones, I get to PAY for them, but I don’t OWN them. * sigh *
Customer support IS aware of the problem, and according to them ‘working on a solution’ ...
However, it IS frustrating to say the least.
I plan another note to them ... been a subscriber since ‘95 .. have paid over 8K in all those years ... please get it fixed !!!
Anyway ... like I said ... it IS a KNOWN problem.
