I think the Eagles is going to be the visiting team that wins today..
Tell that to the Colts last year.
I have a question though? Why does it always seem the media either counts the Chargers out? Furthermore, what’s with the talk about Rivers being classless. I’ve been a fan for a long time and never seen him make an ass of himself. I suspect it is just the masses repeating what the TV told them, much like this year’s election.
I’d speculate that with a recent history of making the playoffs and failing to get to the SB, the idea that the SD will ultimately fail has a lot of currency in media circles. To be fair, the Chargers have not looked like winners the entire season.
It’s hard for me to judge Rivers as I’m in TX and not exposed to him much at all, but he is fiery and outspoken, I’ve seen, and some people find that off-putting or even threatening. ‘Classless’(Did Cutler start that?) is in the eye of the beholder, though, and again, something repeated often enough becomes fashionable by definition, if not always the truth. I think it’s just the Rivers’ cult of personality meme du jour. Hell, if he manages to lead them to a SB victory he suddenly becomes the triumphant, heroic General: leader of lesser men. Just watch.
People like to snipe and rumormonger. It keeps them busy. We never see the like here on FR, of course. That’s different!
I agree with you completely. I am so sick of hearing that Rivers is not liked, a bad mouth, and all that garbage. I guess because he’s not in the news with his latest gal pal or getting in trouble, he isn’t the media’s type.
I love him and the Chargers too. Last night was a nail-biter. Darren Sproles is a whole evening of entertainment all by himself. Amazing!!!!
Anyone with half a brain knows the situation here is a complete TRAIN WRECK!!!
It started with that 10-6 farce of a season last year. The fact that the Browns played the 4th easiest schedule didn’t matter. What did was all the sheep in this town buying into the program and expecting nothing short of the playoffs. Then again when your fanbase helps the Baltimore Ravens make money what else would you expect.
Anyway, we saw just how bad this football team really is and they are again, at ground zero.
What should have happened. In last offseason, Derek Anderson should have been traded when he still had value, making Brady Quinn the starting QB. But no, and look what happened. They could have made a play for Matt Leinhart, as his ass still is on the bench in Arizona .to be waiting in the wings had Quinn faultered.
Oh well, the beat goes on. The best scenario for this mess. Rich McKay or Parcells as GM and Shanahan as HC. if that happens I think they both ask Crennel to stay as Def Coordinator. And try to go get Leinhart if at all possible. Since the Cardinals will resign Warner to a multi year deal, that option is still there.
What’s the latest with Cassel. Does he stay and returns to Tom Brady’s backup, or with Farve retiring AGAIN, is the J-E-T-S in his future?
I hope to see a battle of the Birds in the NFC Championship, but I know that is not going to happen.. I hate Viqueens worse than the Eagles..
CARDINALS are birds too.........GO CARDS !
How silly of me to beat against Kurt Warner. He is now 8-0 against the Dirty Birds!! And maybe they can keep Edge James in the backfield so that there is a chance to keep Kurt Warner from throweing 50 passes next week.
It is a good story that has another week in it for sure.
We’ve reached the point in the NFL where any team, regardless of record who makes the playoffs has a legitimate chance of winning it all. It wasn’t always that way, but just look at the Steelers and Giants teams that won the SB as 6 seeds in recent years.
I think it happens again as the Ravens make it to the Super Bowl. I don’t think they beat Carolina, but they do get there.
Then again, after my performance yesterday, Miami pitches a shutout, winning 31-0. Of course I don’t see that happening, but you never know!!!
it was a great game defensively....the big story was the punts / kickoffs...the cards are vulnerable yet three kickbacks and three no yardage punts.....second, when we hit the man,he went down yesterday
Especially this time of year, special teams are huge.
amen dat...
So who exactly is playing today? Any of our teams?
Brady’s future is unclear given post op complications. expect the Pats to hold on to him and if Brady looks okay then they trade Cassel to someone for draft picks in 2010.
The Pats would be crazy not to offer Crennel his old job again. He can’t stay on in Cleveland having been fired as the head man. The Pats did very well with him as the defensive signal caller.
Cleveland needs defense in a big way. Get that handled and the rest will fall into place.
NEW YORK - Mike Smith and Tony Sparano performed so brilliantly as rookie head coaches it was almost impossible to separate them.
Atlantas Smith edged Miamis Sparano by one vote Sunday for The Associated Press 2008 NFL Coach of the Year award.
