INDIANAPOLIS – He overcame injury, odds and adversity.

Five months ago, he was recovering from knee surgery, and just two months ago, his team was under .500 and he had just one more touchdown pass than interceptions.

Now, Peyton Manning is something else, something historic.

Now, he is the NFL’s Most Valuable Player.

Again.

One of the greatest quarterbacks of all times. Way to go, Peyton.

He definitely deserved it. No way the Colts would be in the playoffs without Peyton.

Even Kerry Collins deserved consideration, after the mess they were in at the beginning of the year with Vince Young.

It's amazing how BCS foes Young and Matt Leinart are nowhere to be found in the NFL 3 years later.

He may be the MVP but once again, he failed to lift his team past the first round in the playoffs (sixth time in nine years that Manning and the Colts were bounced out of playoffs in first round).

Yes, I know that the Colts did go all the way (one time) in 2007 but with all the fuss and fawning, you'd think pretty boy Peyton would have a little more to show for it than one Super Bowl ring.

Now I don't dislike Peyton personally, I'm sure he's a swell enough guy off the field, but all this adulation over Manning and his highly overrated Colts does make me sick to my stomach at times (and reminds me of the media lovefest over Obama).

Now at least I do not have to be subjected to three more weeks of "Manning Bowl" talk. In fact, if pretty boy Eli and his Giants get knocked out of the playoffs, it will help make me feel better about my 11-5 Brady-less Patriots getting shut out of the playoffs entirely! Although Eli aside, the Giants are a much more deserving team than the insufferable dome-playing Colts.

I wouldn't place the blame for the loss on Peyton, who threw a touchdown and 310 yards and no interceptions.

The game was lost due to two Clint Session penalties at moments when the Colts had stopped the Bolts. The penalties gave the Bolts one more first down and kept alive the drive.
