Why does wikipedia list Stanley Ann Durham's birth place Fort Leavenworth but her S.S. application which she signed state Wichita Kansas?

The SS # is tracked by where it was applied for, not where the individual was born. Until recent decades, a child was born and reached teens before getting a SS# and could get one wherever they were residing at the time. I was born in Washington, DC, but my SS# is from TN.

Just another example of lousy research. Her birthplace is mentioned in a number of places as either Witchita or Fort Leavenworth. Her father was in the military then which might explain the Fort Leavenworth mention. Like everything else her birthplace is hard to track. I believe one way is to find out where Madelyn went to work after she had Ann.
